Pageant of the Masters is a world-famous stage presentation featuring 'living pictures.' Watch as volunteer cast members are magically transformed into famous works of art, accompanied by a full orchestra and live narration. The 2009 Pageant, The Muse, will explore the nature of artistic inspiration.

      Having gone for several years, I was delighted to find that this year the production of the Pageant of the Masters-"The Muse" on 7/29 hit high marks for originality. Not only do the cast members... Expand

      Having gone for several years, I was delighted to find that this year the production of the Pageant of the Masters-"The Muse" on 7/29 hit high marks for originality. Not only do the cast members make seamless transitions from real life to painting, but the amount of detail and time put into the show is incredible. The narration has moved in a likable direction, aiming for all audience members. The entire show is fully orchestrated with music written for each piece. It is slightly different than say, a year like 2007, where there were no nudes. However, as this is art, and there is artistic nudity, prudish members of society may find this offensive. Regardless, my family and I had no problem with the pieces chosen this year. It is a beautiful show with an array of pieces detailing feminine inspiration in art and culture through the ages. Our personal favorites were the posters, especially The Mummy and King Kong (They come to life!) and the Claudel sculptures. Collapse

      Ever wonder where artists find artistic inspiration? The Pageant of the Masters 2009 presentation of The Muse- has the answer. You're under the stars outside in Laguna Beach, watching real people posing to look like their counterparts in re-creations of classical and contemporary works of art! Plus, there's an orchestra and live, yes LIVE narration during the perfofrmance. You have to check it out for yourself. Collapse

      In years past we have been awed and wowed by the Pageant "Experience". ...this year misses the mark...most paintings are not of the same extrodinary quality... and frankly there is a line between art... Expand

      In years past we have been awed and wowed by the Pageant "Experience". ...this year misses the mark...most paintings are not of the same extrodinary quality... and frankly there is a line between art and lewdness that is not only crossed but blown through to pornography... save your money and probably find the same at a strip joint Collapse
