Jobs - DEADLINE :
Director of Operations, Marketing and Development

The 3-time Emmy award-winning Southern California Children’s Chorus (SCCC) in Orange County, California is currently accepting applicants for the position of Director of Operations, Marketing & Development.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), exempt position, primarily remote, with Tuesday rehearsals and performances in Newport Beach with a salary of $80,000/year; healthcare benefits negotiable.

Our Mission
Enhancing children’s lives through distinguished choral music education and world-class performance.

Who We Are
For thirty years, the Southern California Children’s Chorus has given young singers across Orange County, ages 5 through 20, a place to grow on stages from Segerstrom Hall to Carnegie Hall. We are a small, close organization with a big reach, and we are modernizing how we operate so we can serve our families even better.

The Role
We are hiring one person to run the daily operations of the chorus and to help it grow. If you are organized, warm, and energized by mission-driven work, you do not need to come from the music world: you need to love the idea of a well-run organization that changes children’s lives. This is a relational role above all, building trust with parents, singers, volunteers, faculty, and donors, on top of a newly modernized, largely automated platform that keeps the routine work light.

What You’ll Do

  • Run enrollment, registration, tuition billing, and family communication on our member platform
  • Be present at Tuesday rehearsals and at most performances, making sure each day runs smoothly and that children are safely received, supervised, and released.
  • Grow the chorus through marketing, community outreach, and enrollment.
  • Build our fundraising over time: a unified donor program, grants, and community and corporate support. The chorus is financially healthy, so this is about building for the future.
  • Keep the books in QuickBooks and work with our CPA, and steward our faculty, our volunteers, and our rehearsal home at St. Andrew’s in Newport Beach.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A warm, personable, genuinely engaging person. The relational gift to build trust matters most.
  • A self-starter who balances autonomy and initiative with prudence, upward communication, and informed consent.
  • A record of accomplishment in process improvement and organizational development.
  • Three or more years in nonprofit operations, administration, development, or marketing. Any one of these is a fine start.
  • Comfort with modern cloud software and openness to automation; hands-on with, or willing to own, QuickBooks.
  • Care and discretion around sensitive information about children and families.

Preferred: fundraising experience; familiarity with CRM or registration and billing tools; affinity for music, the arts, or youth education; Spanish or other languages.
