Grants for Writers

The Dramatists Guild Foundation offers grants on a rolling basis providing financial support to writers is an investment in the future of American theater.  If you are facing a financial crisis and need financial assistance and/or support, and are a dramatist (playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists in the theatrical genre), you are eligible to apply for an emergency grant.

Please note, the granting process may take up to four (4) weeks for a decision on your application to be made, as well as for your grant to be processed once approved. Please keep this in mind as you plan for your grant application’s submission. As a reminder, incomplete applications or documentation will delay the grant process and distribution, and we may require you to resubmit your application. Please be sure to double check your application before you submit to make sure all required documentation has been included.
