The New Hope Orange County Orchestra focus is on empowering young musicians (ages nine and up) with a dynamic repertoire from Bach to Beyoncé. This initiative addresses the critical underrepresentation of minorities in orchestras, where roughly only 2.4% of musicians identify as Black or Latino.

Led by the highly respected conductor Dr. Charles Dickerson, the orchestra provides an inclusive and comprehensive musical education. Open to musicians of all skill levels, the free program requires no auditions, making it accessible to all aspiring young artists. The New Hope Orange County Orchestra offers a unique platform for artistic development, personal growth, and celebrating cultural identity.

The orchestra’s mission is to broaden musical horizons while affirming cultural heritage, equipping young musicians with the skills, confidence, and leadership to foster systemic change and promote inclusivity in music.
