Built on bold linework and a thoughtful use of color, the compostion feels both grounded and dynamic. Patterns repeat and shift, creating a natural sense of movement. There’s a quiet balance between structure and freedom, where each element works together to create something cohesive and evoloving. In this way, the piece reflects the nature of expertise-where knowledge builds over time, and through shared insight and steady progress, we continue to rise against cancer.

David Flores is an internationally recognized contemporary artist and native Californian known for his signature stained-glass aesthetic, where bold linework and refined geometry transform portraiture into striking visual statements. His work spans monumental murals, fine art and high-profile collaborations, bridging traditional craftsmanship with modern iconography. Rooted in cultural narrative and precision, his compositions explore identity, legacy and the evolving language of contemporary art. Within this project, his work brings a sense of structure, clarity and enduring visual impact.

“Hope is a Rising Tide,” is a large-scale public art installation presented by City of Hope Orange County in partnership with Lido Marina Village. This outdoor gallery transforms the destination’s parking structure into a vibrant, walkable art experience featuring works from from 11 Southern California artists, including one cancer survivor. Each piece reflects themes of hope and healing, creating a curated collection designed to uplift and inspire visitors. As the first and last touchpoint for more than one million visitors each year, the structure now carries more than arrivals and departures. It carries a story rooted in momentum, resilience, and community strength.
